Sawari helps women find licensed female driving instructors. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to sawari.ca and to the emails we send.
Sawari is operated by 13469425 Canada Inc., 4230 Sherwoodtowne Blvd., Suite 200, Mississauga, ON L4Z 2G6, Canada. We are the organisation responsible for your personal information under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Students. When you contact an instructor or request an instructor in your area, we collect your name, phone number, email address, city, optional postal code, the service you are looking for, an optional message, and your preferred way to be contacted. If you phone Sawari, we may record the same details by hand.
Instructors. When you apply for membership, we collect your legal and display names, contact details, photo, bio, the cities you serve, your driving instructor licence number and expiry, your affiliated driving school, the services you offer, and your compliance attestation. Payment is handled by Stripe. We receive your membership status and the last four digits of your card, never your full card number.
Everyone. Technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, the page you came from and any campaign tags in the link you used.
To introduce you to the instructor you chose. To send you a confirmation and, a few days later, one short check-in about whether you connected. To review instructor applications, publish approved profiles and manage membership billing. To understand where women are looking for instructors so we can expand to those areas. To keep the service safe, prevent spam and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
When you contact an instructor through Sawari, we share your name, phone number, email address, city, requested service and message with that instructor and her affiliated driving school, with your consent given on the form. The instructor uses your details to respond to your request. She is independently responsible for how she handles your information after that. Sawari does not share your details with any other instructor without asking you first.
We use trusted providers to run Sawari, each bound to use information only on our instructions: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database), Resend (email delivery), Stripe (membership payments for instructors), Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (site usage analytics). Some of these providers store information in the United States. Where they do, it may be subject to the laws of that country.
If you tell us you connected with an instructor, we may invite you to leave an optional rating and comment. We use this privately to monitor quality and handle complaints. We do not publish individual ratings or comments. If we ever publish aggregate ratings in future, we will only use ratings from confirmed Sawari introductions, will show the number of ratings alongside any average, and will moderate comments for abuse, personal information and spam. We will update this policy before doing so.
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used, which may set cookies and record anonymised interaction data. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block cookies in your browser without affecting your ability to contact an instructor.
Student requests are kept for 24 months so we can follow up, handle complaints and understand demand, then deleted or anonymised. Instructor records are kept while membership is active and for 7 years afterwards where needed for tax and legal purposes. Ratings are kept in anonymised form for quality analysis.
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent, subject to legal limits. You can unsubscribe from Sawari emails by replying to any message. To make a request, email sawaridriving@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Information is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in access-controlled systems. Links in our emails use signed, expiring tokens and never contain your personal details. Only Sawari staff with a need to know can access request and application records. No system is completely secure, and we will tell you and the authorities where required if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm.
Sawari is intended for people old enough to hold a learner’s licence. A parent or guardian may submit a request on behalf of someone under 18, and is responsible for the information they provide.
